The situation in Gaza is marked by profound suffering. Every day, people lose their homes, their loved ones, their future. We See You is an artistic response to all of this: an initiative by Carovana091 that brings together musicians and collectives from the free improvisation scene in Switzerland.

Descrizione

The war in Gaza shapes global awareness. For months, the civilian population there has been experiencing ongoing violence, displacement, and destruction. Families lose their loved ones, their homes, their sense of security, often in a single moment. The constant presence of images and reports affects us: it burdens us, overwhelms us, and carries the risk that we may grow accustomed to the extent of the suffering. When violence becomes a daily occurrence, our empathy risks fading.

It is from this sense of urgency that WE SEE YOU emerged, a Switzerland-wide initiative that brings together improvising musicians from all regions. Together, they create a musical statement for human rights, compassion, and the dignity of the civilian population in Gaza.

Sound the Alarm, a composed improvisation developed by Clayton Thomas, serves as a central point of reference. The project is not only an artistic gesture of solidarity but also a fundraising initiative that mobilizes concrete support for Gaza.

The performance in Zurich is presented by the collective Der Grosse Bär under the direction of Roberto Domeniconi. The musicians play inspired by the composition in a free, improvised form, as an immediate response to the urgency of empathy, awareness, and collective action.

All proceeds from the concert will go to the International Committee of the Red Cross as well as the Ghassan Abu Sittah Children’s Fund, both of which provide humanitarian aid to the affected population.
