WE SEE YOU – Music as Resistance, Solidarity as Attitude
A Fundraising Project for Gaza
We are living in a time of war. Every day, people are dying in Gaza. Families are being torn apart, living spaces destroyed, lives erased. Through images, news, and social media, we become witnesses to this violence. If we fail to process it, share it, or take an inner stance, we risk becoming numb and accepting the horrific as part of our reality.
WE SEE YOU takes a stand against this. It is an act of artistic resistance against indifference — an attempt to remain human and to share humanity.Music is never neutral: it connects, opens spaces, and makes audible what words can no longer express.
Inspired by Sound the Alarm, a collective founded by Clayton Thomas as a musical gesture of solidarity with the civilian population in Gaza, a network of improvising musicians from across Switzerland has formed. With small ensembles, they respond artistically to the situation in Gaza while also raising financial support.
The free and improvised music scene thus sends a powerful message: even niche art is connected to society and creates an invaluable space where listening and empathy remain alive.
In Bern, the audience can expect a high-caliber line-up: Rebecca Minten (bass clarinet), Luz Gonzalez (electronics), Christian Kobi (saxophone), Thomas Canna (percussion), Thomas Rohrer (rabe, saxophone, objects), Biliana Voutchkova (violin, voice), Natalie Peters (voice), Sabine Vogel (flute), Klaus Filip (electronics), Sebastian Rotzler (double bass).
