WE SEE YOU – Music as Resistance, Solidarity as an Attitude

A Fundraising Project for Gaza

We live in a time of war. Every day, people are dying in Gaza. Families are torn apart, living spaces destroyed, lives shattered. Through images, news, and social media, we witness this violence. If we do not process it, share it, or take an inner stance, we risk becoming desensitized and accepting the unthinkable as part of our reality.

WE SEE YOU addresses this. It is an artistic resistance against indifference, an attempt to remain human – and to share humanity. Music is never neutral: it connects, opens spaces, and makes audible what words often can no longer express. Inspired by Clayton Thomas’ collective Sound the Alarm, a musical gesture of solidarity with the civilian population in Gaza, a network of improvising musicians from across Switzerland has come together to respond artistically to the situation in Gaza while also raising funds.

The free and improvisational music scene thus sends a strong signal: even so-called niche art is connected to society and creates an invaluable space where listening and empathy remain alive.

In Basel, the audience can experience a high-caliber line-up: Andrea Neumann (prepared piano), Biliana Voutchkova (violin), Alicja Pilarczyk (violin), Natalie Peters (voice), Stefano Grasso (percussion), Luca Manzo (piano), Thomas Rohrer (rabe, saxophone, objects), Marina Tantanozi (flute), Christian Moser (oud), Ed Williams (clavichord), Thomas Canna (percussion).

Renowned violinist Biliana Voutchkova curates the concert in Basel, creating intimate sound spaces where the musicians respond artistically to the painful topic of Gaza.

All proceeds will go to:

  • International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)

  • The Ghassan Abu Sittah Children Fund

  • Or directly to WE SEE YOU, IBAN: CH59 8080 8003 2395 6760 0

WE SEE YOU is a sign of the present: subtle, open, but determined.

We see you. We care. Let’s stay awake.
