Followed by: Artist Talk with Cedrik Fermont
Cedrik Fermont is not only an experimental musician: for decades, as a sound activist, researcher, and label manager, he has dedicated himself to making marginalized music scenes visible, especially in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. His artistic work is inseparable from his political commitment: through his award-winning book Not Your World Music, his participation in the Gaza Freedom Flotilla, and his radical ethics as a vegan, anti-racist cultural creator. In this talk, Fermont discusses sound as a tool of resistance, decolonial perspectives in music, and a practice that moves between research, performance, and personal engagement.
